Tyrannosaurus...or Alamotyrannus brinkmani? (V.3)

Description

So, in the early 2000s fragments of a large tyrannosaurine were dug up in Texas. Although unpublsihed, it is generally referred to Tyrannosaurus...but the interesting thing about this specimen, is that it was found in 70 million year old rock - two million years before Tyrannosaurus is reckoned to have evolved. Now, we're not sure if this is a specimen of Daspletosaurus torosus, Tyrannosaurus, an intermediary form between the two, or a new taxon altogether. With a paper describing it set to drop in the next few years, we won't get a good idea of what it is until then.

Thanks to :iconspinosaurus1: for helping me discover this animal, and to :icont-pekc: for being a great influence and very supportive!
