Description

I drew this for my pal Trey :iconagentlemanscientist:, a guy who I am a massive fan of, and a guy who I've been told kinda likes my art :D.

Keeping in the spirit of his videos, I have incorporated some newer ideas and concepts that have been uncovered since the whole 2014 kerfuffle. You may not be able to tell from this angle, but that first toe (or hallux) faces backwards. I have also given him feather-like whiskers protruding from the pressure sinuses peppered around the rostrum, a concept thought up by the brilliant Traheripteryx :icontraheripteryx:.

I have tried my best not to shrink-wrap him. In the theme of this I have given him thick lips protecting his teeth and smoothing his jawline slightly. 1/3 of the sail (the base) is comprised of thick muscle, gristle and fat, whilst the other 2/3 are a thick structure. This is in line with some of the newer understandings we have of this creature.

At this moment I shan't portray him walking or standing -- only sitting and swimming -- and I can't be bothered getting into arguments with eleven year old fanboys in the comments.

(also, note for Trey, if you need art for your videos shout me out on twitter or send me a note!)

I absolutely despise Trey, but this is an amazing piece. Great work!
